Clarion Re-Works Its Magic

New spin on top-selling head unit delivers knock-out features and affordability

Clarion has pitched in with a strong contender for top honours - the DXZ378RMP - an up-rated, more user-friendly, higher-spec version of last year’s most affordable iPod compatible audio head unit ever, but at the same price of just £119.

The CD/MP3/WMA receiver utilises Clarion’s clever connectivity system – CeNet – to allow iPod interaction via an interface (EA1276), as well separate control of an add-on DVD changer, TV tuner, DAB tuner and 6-disc CD changer, whilst a front-facing AUX input allows integration of portable audio and video devices.

All functions on the unit are managed via rotary volume control and feature buttons, whilst a remote control now comes as standard, and a high-visibility 2-line white negative LCD display provides a crystal-clear picture.

The increased technical demand on the DXZ378RMP does nothing to compromise sound reproduction however, with 4 x 50 watts of MOS-FET amplification delivering masses of power but with less distortion, as well as Z-Enhancer Plus, to allow total control of the gain, Q and frequency.
